French economy flirts with recession as GDP unexpectedly falls in third quarter

France's gross domestic product declined by 0.1% in the third quarter, after stagnating in the second quarter and falling by 0.2% in the first. Economy Minister Roland Lescure warned of a 'crash' if fiscal consolidation measures are not included in the next budget.
