Recent statistics released in France distort true unemployment figures

The number of people registered with the country's employment agency who had no employment increased by 0.8% in the second quarter of 2026, according to data released Tuesday. However, after adjusting for regulatory changes introduced in 2025, the figure actually showed a 0.2% decrease.
